NGJ Office Humor: Daddy Bill

Having Daddy Bill (Debi’s dad) at lunch sometimes would get interesting. Having a touch of Alzheimer’s, he would repeat questions like, “How’s everyone at Decaturville where I grew up?” Daily, he would find out that all but a few of his friends had died. At one point, Emily suggested we make an obituary page of a newspaper “from Decaturville” because he “just couldn’t believe that.” One day, after Mike told him that everyone that he knew from Decaturville was dead, without hesitation, Daddy Bill replied, “Well, I’m glad I left.”
