I love this article. I really do. I think it is sweet and something a lot of fathers and grandfathers and even mothers probably think about... but, to completely forbid him anything other than a virgin? I was home schooled my whole life. I was appropriately sheltered and I was a virgin on my wedding day. My husband was not. He was anything but sheltered, anything but innocent and anything but a virgin. He is a very devout christian now, though, and I believe our Lord cleansed him of his inpurities when we married. I've never felt jealous, or that I didn't measure up. I know for a fact that he doesn't fantasize of other woman. Pornography is not an issue, because we agree that is wrong. His past is in no way harmful to our marriage, to him or to myself. He is made new through the renewing of his mind. He was not a virgin to sex when we married but he was a virgin to sex with ME and that is what matters to me. We all make mistakes before we knew Christ. Am I to think I am too good for him because I saved myself and he didn't? That's not what Christ wants us to do.. condemn others. I used to pray for my future husband when I was younger. I prayed that he would save himself for me. He didn't and I forgive him. He knew not what he did. But ya know what? He never loved any other woman. Not even close. He can honestly say I am the only woman he has ever been in love with, which means he saved his heart for me. No other woman has ever experienced his love. I am the only one. That makes me more happy than anything.

I am so disturbed by some of your teachings. They speak often of submission, blind obedience, training. These are qualities i'd expect from a prison guard rather than a parent. The God I serve and believe in is a God of love, forgiveness and mercy. I pray that you will find all of those things in your own journeys.

Wow. Those are the things I want for my boy. He is 18 months old so in 20 years, who knows, Isaiah Lee Brooks could be knocking on your door! Thanks again for all you do!
