I did enjoy this article. I think that today, our society tries to take the joy of being a woman away from us. I love taking care of people, keeping a home, and all it means to be a woman - even if I don't particularly care for your use of the word "obedient" or many of your other philosophies. Thank you for this article, however.

Such a treasure to reread this article so I can teach my daughters the beauty of being a lady and recognizing God's handiwork in all people. Thank you

I did enjoy this article by Mrs Pearl. I do like to point out though, that while there are certainly some "traditional" things that most real ladies will have in common, there are just as many things that make us unique from each other that should not be seen as not being biblical or christian. For example, as I help my husband on the farm, I wear jeans, black socks and boots. It is practical, warm, keeps my body hidden instead of the wind riding up my skirts, boots help me in the truck, over fences, and through the mud. I don't teach my girls that women only look or wear certain things. It depends entirely on the life God has chosen for them. I wouldn't want anyone to see my black socks and boots and think I wasn't being a woman, when in fact I am being the woman God asked me to be to my husband - his helpmeet, wherever that is--hunting in the woods, hiking over fences, chasing lambs in the field, birthing the goat--whatever. We won't all be seen with dresses, flowers and having tea parties with our knitting by our side.

This reminded me so much that child training often begins with Mama training. I want my daughter to love and follow Jesus, I'd better be showing her how. I want her to be a helper suitable to the man the Lord has for her, than I'd better be a helper suitable to her Daddy, etc. I'm glad for these articles that call me to account and remind me that I've got a shadow watching my every move, expression and attitude. May I get it right!
