The Rich Man & Lazarus Part - 1

Announcer:  We have two bodies? One is natural; the other is spiritual.

Michael Pearl:  We're told in 1 Corinthians 15 there is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. We have two bodies, just like a football. If you take the leather skin off the outside of a football and reveal the bladder with the air, it's still the same shape. It still looks like a football with a different covering over it.

And so, it is, your soul inside is you. The outer body covers it, and when the body goes to the grave, the soul goes to be present with God. That soul, like God, has eyes. God has eyes to see. It has ears to hear. It smells, it touches, it feels. It can be embraced. That body is a real body. It's called a spiritual body.

In other words, it's a ghost. It's a ghost, so much so that when Jesus died and came back, He's spoken of as the Holy Ghost. A ghost that appears, who is holy.

  1. Brother Mike, please tell me you are not saying that the Holy Ghost is the Lord Jesus Christ without the body. I heard you mention the heresy of modalism once and your statement here on this clip supports that damnable doctrine. Please respond so that others who are listening to your teaching will not be confused about the essential doctrine of the Godhead. Aloha

  2. From Michael Pearl.

"God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Sprit are three different and distinct persons who are one and the same God. There is no analogy or mathematical formula that can explain the godhead. He is one. He is three. Jesus is God who created all things. Jesus is God’s Son. Jesus sent the Comforter to take his place. Jesus is the Comforter who abides with us forever. God is a spirit. The Spirit is God. God is indivisible. All attributes of God exists in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
It is necessary that a consideration of the structural nature of God should end in confusion with nothing to which to compare it. To define anything is to place limits upon it. That which is infinite cannot be defined except with words that have no limits. God is above and beyond mathematics.
I have not taken the time to reference this with Scripture, but I am confident you are aware of all the text supporting what I have said."
