Every family I meet, be they delightfully exemplary or sadly dysfunctional, provokes me to analyze what they did right or wrong that brought them to this place in life.
I have been reading the book of Joshua this week. The stories are a powerful reminder of who God is as we see how he reacts to situations in the life of his people.
How can we minister as a family when we live out in the country and rarely encounter unsaved people?
As a kid I was trained to eat to live, not live to eat. I was taught that food makes your body healthy or unhealthy, lean or fat, that overeating was gluttony and gross.
When one believer, joined by other faithful disciples, does the work of the church – sharing the gospel – and they assemble together for prayer, mutual encouragement and discipleship of new converts, you have a New Testament church.
God has raised up an army of people who are shining the light of Jesus into prisons all across America.
When we first moved to Cane Creek 30 years ago, there were about 30 people who met with us several times a week for over a year to study through the Old Testament.
