The father of our daughter has stolen her from me, both in practical reality as well as psychologically, and has kidnapped her into a Mennonite community, where the tradition, rules and regulations have more emphasis than a relationship with Jesus. Thus, she had been brainswashed to live her life in a type of bondage where there is no reality of the liberty which was purchased on the cross. Also, the Mennonites have informed my daughter that she is to despise, denigrate and act disrespectful towards me, as I am not a Mennonite. It is truly a bad situation, as I have been made out to be the villian in her eyes by comments which have been made to her by her father and by the Mennonites. The silver cord of the relationship between her and I has been severed because of what the father and the Mennonites have indoctrinated into her thinking. I think Americans have this belief that the Mennonites are a gentle, loving people — and on some level, that may be true. But they definitely do have a male supremacy which teaches that women are to be doormats and slaves. Further, the ones I know possess an arrogance that they alone have all the answers, and thus anyone who is not Mennonite is not good enough for them. This seems to be the case in the video, and was probably the reason for the shunning and excommunication.
