Today American citizens celebrate the annual holiday Father’s Day. This has been celebrated officially since 1966 when President Lyndon Johnson proclaimed Father's Day as an official national holiday. Six years later President Richard Nixon signed it into law as a permanent U.S. holiday to be observed on the third Sunday in June. Today is the 101st celebration of the first organized Father’s Day which was only held in Spokane, Washington.
