NGJ Kids: See a Need, Fill a Need

Jesus looked across the hillside where over 5,000 people sat listening to him teach all day long. It was late and everyone was hungry, but there was no food available. One young boy who had brought his lunch from home saw the need and offered his little lunch to the disciples. Jesus accepted the gift and performed a miracle, multiplying the five little loaves of bread and the two small fish so that thousands of people were able to eat until they were filled. The little boy saw a need, and Jesus multiplied his gift. Do you ever look around and see a need that you can fill? The boy could have said, “It is my lunch; Mother made it for me. They should have brought something to eat, and it is so little; it wouldn’t help much anyhow.” Do you help those who have a need, or do you say, “I have been working all day. It is my turn to play”? No matter how small you are or how little your gift, God can multiply your gift to bless many.
