One of the greatest gifts we can ever receive is the opportunity to know our Savior. While there are places in the world where such opportunities are abundant, in others, billions live out their lives without ever once hearing the name of Jesus. It is our mission to change that, one soul at a time. We’ll have to wait for eternity to hear each one’s story, but today, I get to share with you a bird’s-eye view of some of the opportunities that God has blessed us with this year to make Christ known. Some of these are ongoing projects that you may remember from past updates, and some are new doors the Lord has opened. Most of them involve our Good and Evil comic Bible, a graphic novel of Bible stories designed to share the message of salvation in a way anyone can comprehend, whether they are Muslim, Hindu, or atheist. Both online and in print, Good and Evil continues to touch the hearts of millions in over 80 languages. Thank you for your financial support that makes this possible and your prayers which nurture each seed that is planted. Every time someone receives the Greatest Gift of all through this work, you are partakers in the reward. We look forward to the day when we get to meet these new members of God’s family, and rejoice together with the angels around the throne.
Israel:
The Arabic, Hebrew, and Russian Good and Evil books that arrived in Israel in July 2024 continue to have an impact, despite distribution complications due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Our friend, Brother Andrew Ryzhkov of the Byelorussian Mission, planned to travel to Haifa this summer with some of his team from Belarus and hold a youth camp where each attendee would receive a copy of Good and Evil. This plan had to be postponed when travel became a problem as airlines repeatedly cancelled tickets in response to safety concerns. Yet, we rejoiced to hear that God still found a way to get books into the hands of youth, through some school children in Haifa who received copies of the book and proceeded to request additional copies to share with all of their classmates. These Hebrew schoolchildren are hearing the truth about Christ for the first time, and God’s word will not return void!
Russia:
Brother Andrew also reports that new doors continue to open in Russia, leading to many, many open hearts. The need for Bibles and gospel literature like Good and Evil is great. Andrew reports that fields are ripening, and there are many laborers begging to be taught how to gather in the harvest. Twenty thousand Russian Good and Evil books went to press in August, and more will soon be needed as thousands of pastors gather in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and elsewhere, clamoring for help to reach their nation. With your support, we will continue to partner with Andrew and the Byelorussian Mission to supply this need.
Mali:
We’re pleased to report that 32,500 French and Bambara Good and Evil books have been printed in India and are now on their way to Mali. Please pray for God’s hand over the import process, so that these books can be safely delivered to the churches in the terrorist-plagued countries of Mali and Burkina Faso. With God’s help, our African brothers and sisters will reach many thousands of Muslims through these paper messengers of truth.
Ukraine:
Through your generosity this summer, we raised over $35,000 to help our friend Joshua Steele and Euro Team Outreach print more than 11,000 Ukrainian Good and Evil books. These books will carry the message of salvation to many areas of Ukraine heavily impacted by the war, including deoccupied villages and even the front lines. Thank you for helping to send the message of Christ to those in desperate need of hope.
Papua New Guinea:
It was while their daughter Rebekah was living with a remote tribe in the mountains of PNG that God planted the seeds for the vision that became Good and Evil in Mike and Debi’s hearts. Now, decades later, we have the pleasure to partner with churches that have sprung from those tribes. We’ve been overwhelmed by your outpouring of support for our new vision to take teams to go and preach in both the cities and remote villages of PNG. We’ve printed 10,000 Tok Pisin Good and Evil books for this next season of outreach. Learn more at pngministries.org.
Bhutan:
This year, we were blessed to form a new partnership to help spread the gospel in the closed country of Bhutan. We can’t share all of the details due to the sensitive nature of the work, but we were able to fund an initial printing of 4,000 Good and Evil books that will be distributed throughout the underground church network. These books will be a huge blessing in a place where Bibles and Christian literature are difficult to obtain. We pray that through these books, the church there will be strengthened and many more souls will be won to Christ.
Turkey:
The Lord has also provided us with new opportunities in the country of Turkey. This is a Muslim nation, where atheism is on the rise, but many are seeking to know the true God. While many western missionaries are being kicked out of the country, God is raising up evangelists in the local churches with a vision to reach their nation for Christ. Their strategy is to use a hybrid outreach model employing online ads and printed Good and Evil books, with in-person follow-up from the local churches for the most serious seekers. Please pray for the safety of these laborers, as they take real risks for the name of Christ. Please also pray for the initial printing of 5,000 Turkish Good and Evil books that will be a vital part of this outreach. The cost of this initial printing will be $11,000.
Pakistan:
God continues to raise up new laborers throughout Pakistan with a passion to reach their neighbors with the gospel. Many of them are themselves new converts from Islam or Hinduism, and whether they are ministering in the mountains of the east, the villages of the west, or somewhere in between, God is touching hearts and saving souls to eternal life. Our team leader, Jamil Thomas, has expanded to needing over 20,000 Urdu Good and Evil books each year as well as thousands more in Pashto and Sindhi. He’s also working to establish a team in Nepal that are waiting for us to print books in Nepali. Please pray that God will continue to supply both the spiritual and financial needs of this tremendously, impactful ministry.
There’s so much more that God is doing and that we’re asking him to do in the coming year. I wish I had space to share with you all about every translation that is currently underway and every update and picture we receive from our partners in the field. None of it would be possible without your prayers and support. When the roll is called up yonder and we get to meet each brother and sister that has been washed in the blood, what a day of rejoicing that will be!
