Mel Cohen, our General Manager, is speaking at Fort Rock Family Camp on July 15–16. The topics are Personal Finances, Business Finances, and Self-Publishing a Book.

The Personal Finance sessions will include principles of investing for the new or mature investor, risk management, compounding your investments, retirement and estate planning, and more.

The Business Finance sessions will include getting to the right numbers when buying or selling a business by utilizing a short form valuation process, how to use barter in business to save cash, and making the right business entity choice.

So you have written a book—Now what do you do?

Mel will discuss full service publishers versus self-publishing. He will describe the pros and cons of each, including: costs, royalties, editing, proofing, layout and design, the pre-press process, submitting publications to Amazon and other online sellers, overview of Kindle and eBooks, marketing ideas, and traditional printing versus print on demand (POD).

Mel is a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Financial Consultant that has been the General Manager of No Greater Joy Ministries since 2006. He created and administers the Distributorship Program, Domestic and International Sales, Rights Agreements, Printing, Amazon Promotions, Finances, and much more. Seminar notes and illustrations will be presented to each family that attends. Mel will also counsel families privately, as time permits, without a fee. 1. This camp sounds wonderful! We would especially like to visit NW Ar since it would be near our 4 grandchildren in Springdale; but since my husband has not worked in 2 years and is recovering from a full knee replacement a month ago; I know that will not happen. I would really like you tape his discussion on full service publishers vs self publishing and to make the CD available. I think many people would be interested. Thanks for considering it. Sincerely, Sandra
