so I really want to be a Cross-Country show jumper and hang out with horses, but my parent’s don’t want me to. It is my dream even though i’m only 14 – i have always wanted to so please help me! Is it okay to grow up and be something even if your parents don’t think you should?

Ask your parent’s why they don’t want you to. Maybe there’s a misunderstanding??
BTW, I adore horses as well and it is also a dream I have to get into jumping! 😉

Hayley, when I was your age (and for years before that) I wanted nothing more than to be a jockey. I read everything about horses I could get my hands on and took riding lessons as long as I could (which wasn’t long). But I live in Washington, where there’s not a lot of horse racing. What is your situation?
I think if God had wanted me to be a jockey, he would have put me in Kentucky and made my parents horse trainers. I eventually figured out that I didn’t want it all that bad… and God replaced those dreams with others. I still think it would be cool… but I’m sure glad I didn’t try to run away from home to make it on my own with horses! Wait a little while. God may open up a door for you to be able to do this or something similar that your parents are ok with, or He may show you His own different plan.
