Hard Copy Versus NGJ eMagazine

I must say that I much prefer a hard copy magazine. I like to kick back on the couch to read rather than sit at the computer, and being able to pick up the copy and take it with me allows me to read anywhere. All that said, the cost of printing a hard copy magazine is staggering. Adding pages can mean a large increase in postage. The ministry has to weigh all those issues and make wise decisions. We will continue sending out our hard copy, bi-monthly NGJ magazine, but there is a lot going on at NGJ that will not fit in our regular magazine. We wanted to be able to share all this with our readers, but the cost of a monthly hard copy magazine is not possible.

The eNGJ magazine offers an alternative. Using this resource every other month, we can email a magazine to you at very little cost to us. We write several articles, but we also provide video streams. Mike and Nathan can sit down in front of a camera and teach or answer a letter, making it faster and more personal. Shalom sits with one of her children and teaches them while you watch. It is Parenting 101 on video.

Even Farmer Johnny gives us a visual on farming. It is always a hoot. Last month he chased my big old rooster down and held him while he taught how to start raising your own chickens. That is a feat not many people could manage. Of course not everyone is interested in raising chickens, but your kids will love watching Farmer Johnny teach about farming. Be warned, if they do watch they will pester you to buy baby chicks. You don’t have to download everything, just what you want to watch, or you can just read the text, as every stream is transcribed.

Our readers, especially the youth, love to write and regularly send in their stories or articles, but adding them to the hard-copy magazine had to be gravely weighed since every page was needed. Now we can pick out the best of the best from our readers and add it to our eNGJ magazine. The next generation needs a taste of being heard!

I encourage you to take advantage of this new ministry opportunity. If you don’t have a fast computer then go to the library and watch eNGJ Magazine there. Watching it there might help some struggling mom who sees what you are doing.

You can still get our first eNGJ Magazine as well as sign up for future eNGJ magazines. Here’s how:
