We've been very busy at NGJ recently, and want to share an update on our latest ministry projects, including how God is opening the doors to reach Arabs in Israel with the gospel.
Over the last few weeks, we have been working through every channel we can find to arrange a distribution of Good and Evil in Israel, with our eyes set on Gaza. We have the Hebrew and Arabic editions ready to print, to reach both Jews and Arabs. We have just been praying that God would open a door.
There are many ministries actively working to help the thousands of civilians affected by the war with relief aid. There are countless needs for comfort and prayer. Yet we know that the only thing that can bring peace to the region is the gospel of Christ, and we believe that is our part. We have been searching for faithful laborers who are busy in these fields, whose ministries will be multiplied once they are equipped with Good and Evil, and can help us get these books to the people of Gaza.
Through Brother Andrew Ryzhkov, a long-time friend and partner of the ministry, we have finally made the connections necessary to import a container of 35,000 books into Israel, with a network of believers standing ready to distribute them as soon as they arrive.
We are told by multiple sources on the ground that despite the current conflict and government restrictions on evangelism, even the most unlikely people are growing in openness to the gospel. Even Arabs who support Hamas in front of their friends and family are quietly asking questions and seeking truth. We’ve seen thousands of them download our Arabic Good and Evil translation through our online outreach just this week, and we believe that there is an opportunity to reach thousands more who have lost everything and might never otherwise have the chance to hear. Throughout our years of ministry we have consistently seen the greatest hunger for hope in the midst of the greatest darkness. Now is the time to run toward the sound of guns, and potentially change the course of history by changing hearts from bitterness to belief.
Today you can do more than stand with Israel. You can send a light into the darkness, a message of hope from the only One who can bring lasting peace to the region. You can send the gospel of salvation to Israel and her enemies.
We want to move forward on this project as quickly as possible, and need to raise $70k to cover the costs to print and import 35,000 books. We hope to have these books ready and waiting as soon as the door opens to get some of them into Gaza.
Brother Andrew also shared with us that there is a growing openness in many parts of Eastern Europe. In Belarus, his team has distributed tens of thousands of Russian copies of Good and Evil, and reports thousands of professions from young people. The team is desperately searching for more venues for their youth conferences, which consistently fill up within minutes of registration opening. They say that a revival is taking place, and they don’t want to miss it.
Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and even the -stan states are being reached in growing numbers through Andrew’s ministry, Byelorussian Mission. He reports that pastors in Moscow are begging him to come and train them to use Good and Evil to reach the people there like the team is doing in Belarus. They do not have access to any other printed material like this, as the sanctions have made paper in Russia scarce, and they say Byelorussian Mission is the only one supplying this need, through Russian Good and Evil books. Andrew is currently raising funds to print 15-20k books for Russia for the coming year, which he anticipates bearing much fruit.
NGJ's team in India has arranged for the distribution of 10k English Good and Evil books in Sri Lanka. The books are being printed now, and a network of believers in the southwest of the island, around Colombo, is preparing for their arrival. This area is largely Buddhist, and the churches there are excited to reach their neighbors with the gospel. The books will aid greatly in their outreach of street preaching and discipling seekers and new believers.
A network of evangelists in Malaysia has requested English Good and Evil books to aid in their outreach in this Muslim-majority nation. They are part of an underground church working among the Muslim peoples there. We are printing 10k copies for them now, which will be stored and distributed secretly.
This update is already too long, and doesn’t leave room to tell of the 10k Urdu books delivered to our evangelist partner in Pakistan 🇵🇰, the 10k English books being printed for the team in India 🇮🇳, thousands of Nepali books being smuggled into Nepal 🇳🇵, 22k English books recently delivered in Kenya 🇰🇪, the 20k Spanish books being printed now for distribution in Mexico 🇲🇽 prisons, or the thousands of books sent to South Africa 🇿🇦 and Zimbabwe 🇿🇼, all made possible by your support.
