June 5, 2011

The Schnell family—Missionaries to Cambodia—are home on furlough. While their daughters were at camp this past Spring they both got saved. Last week they got baptized in Cane Creek by their father.

  1. How did they get saved before their sins were washed away in baptism? Acts 22:16

    1. Hello,
Thank you for your question! Baptism does not wash away sins, only the blood of Jesus can do that. Water baptism by immersion is to be administered by the church to the morally-spiritually discerning who have put their faith in the finished work of Christ, and have so testified publicly. Water baptism is a picture of the “one baptism” by the Holy Spirit (Into the body of Christ), and neither of itself nor in connection with faith has any efficaciousness in regard to justification (1 Cor. 12:13).
