Dear Mike and Debi Pearl,

I wanted to share a story with you about my teenage son, Daniel, because you share in the eternal rewards for his testimony.

Daniel was able to buy a nice truck at 16 years of age because he has worked hard for many years. He wanted to take care of a few items on the truck that needed repair so he drove to the local auto parts store.

As he was getting the necessary parts from the store, the middle-aged cashier noticed Daniel’s phone when it rang. He said mockingly, “How old are you, boy?” My son replied that he was sixteen. The man went on to say that he had a sixteen year old son and his son wouldn’t be caught dead with “a dinky phone like that."

I figured, as Daniel was relaying the story to me, he was about to say he sheepishly put his little Tracfone away, paid for his items, and got out of there, BUT that is not what happened!
He looked at the man and said, “Sir, would you like to know WHY I have this “dinky” phone. The man answered,"yes." Daniel proceeded to tell him respectfully that other phones—like his son had—had filth and things on them that can destroy a man’s life and that he didn’t want any part of that!

To say the least, the man was dumbfounded! He replied very soberly, “Wow, I wish my son thought that way … your parents must be very proud of you.”

Needless to say, I was and am very proud of him. I told him, “Son, it’s people like you that can change the world by unashamedly proclaiming the truth."

God bless you both for being some of those “world changing” people. You have boldly proclaimed truth and given many warnings. We are eternally grateful for the impact you have had in our family’s life.
