Question

I’m wondering how much lightheartedness is silliness.  I’m generally a very outgoing, bouncy, lighthearted person.  I’ve been told by one of the girls in my group  (who is pretty much a perfect Victorian model child … but never seems to have much fun and is still unmarried at almost 30) that I am silly and I need to pray that God changes me.  But I don’t really consider myself silly.  I sing and dance all through the house and have no problem laughing and making jokes with friends, but also take glorifying God seriously, and living as spotlessly as I can (not too good at that, but improving) very seriously.  But how much lightheartedness is just silliness?

    Hi kingsdaughter!
    I personally have a very silly sister. She is crazy somethimes, in a lighthearted way. When she sees a friend, she runs over to them and gives them a big hug! I don’t consider it wrong to be silly, unless it’s in a solemn situation and you need to take things seriously. I’m usually a quiet person, but sometimes I run around the house, dance, sing for joy, and celebrate the joy God has given! Keep God as the focus; when you’re joyful, praise and thank Him! I consider lightheartness to be a blessing and something that you can use to glorify God and please your future husband, if you do marry! No one really likes being around someone who is sad all the time! “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
    2 Serve the Lord with gladness!
    Come into his presence with singing!
    3 Know that the Lord, he is God!
    It is he who made us, and we are his;[a]
    we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
    4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his courts with praise!
    Give thanks to him; bless his name!
    5 For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
    and his faithfulness to all generations.”
    That’s psalm 100, a beatiful psalm that makes me want to be happy!
