I just got back from a week long mission trip to a place in South Carolina called ‘The Promise Land Ministries’. It was awesome! Basically, it’s a place where people with drug addictions can come and get their lives straightened up. The Church is not ‘conservative’ but I truly believe the Holy Spirit is very active there. Anyway, you could look it up on the internet. It’s pretty close to Myrtle Beach.

You could try your local pregnancy center or food pantry.

One place I would highly reccomend in Children’s Vision Internation in Bogata, Columbia. I actually know the missionary personally and have been praying for their work there as long as I can remember. The missionary who started it grew up not too far aways from where I live and we see her when she visits home. It is more like a family than and orphanage. The children are not availible for adoption because they are street children and some still have families but come out of bad home situations. The fruit of their ministry is really encouraging as some of their first kids are graduating and getting married and changing their family tree. They run a school for their children and also have many external students. They have also recently started a medical mission. Please check out their website:

I would also reccomend God’s Littlest Angels in Haiti. It is an orphanage whose emphasis is international adoption. They started as a rescue mission and do amazing work with premature babies. I do not know any of them personally but have heard a lot of good things about them and practically memorized their website:

This also seems like a really neat mission to get involved in.

But don’t forget to look for local needs. Food pantries, crisis pregnacy centers, Christian adoption agencies ( I recomed Bethany adoption agencies. The probably have a location near you), elderly neighbors or friends, and overwhelmed young mothers. If you live near a big city you can probably find intercity missions. I hope God opens the right doors for you! Blessings! ~ Hannah

I thought of another idea. If you are interested in helping persecuted Christains around the world, you might want to look into Voice of the Martyrs. I write letters to some of the prisoners and draw them pictures, but if you look at their site, you’ll see there’s lots more you can do than that.
